Colorado 500 Off-Road Videos
The Colorado 500
began in the fall of 1975. Wally Dallenbach and Sherm Cooper
spent a few days in the Colorado Rockies riding the off-road
trails and visiting old ghost towns of the gold and silver
mining era. The time spent was so memorable they decided
they had to do it again, and they would invite some of their
friends to ride along. Since they had traveled approximately
500 miles on their ride and being that Wally was a former
Indy 500 Race Car Driver, they called the first ride the
"Colorado 500". Little did they realize at the time, but
Wally & Sherm became co-founders of a ride that grew into an
annual event that came to be known as the COLORADO 500
INVITATIONAL CHARITY DIRT BIKE RIDE.
